Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the Technical and Vocation Education Training Authority (TVET-A) and WorldSkills International is pleased to invite to partners with us in the upcoming 2nd National World Skills Competition scheduled for the 19th to 23rd August at Kenya School of TVET at Gigiri, Nairobi. Additionally, we will host a golf charity event on 10th August 2024 at the Royal Nairobi Golf Club, as a precursor to the main event, offering an ideal networking opportunity for our organization and the TVET institutions.
WorldSkills International organizes the world championships of vocational skills, held every two years across different parts of the world. It comprises 88-member organizations, reaching two-thirds of the world's population and creating measurable impact at every level. WorldSkills International brings together young people, industry, government, education, and institutions to promote the benefits and necessity of skilled trade professionals. It builds the confidence of millions of young people, empowers communities, and fuels economies.
Kenya proudly joined WorldSkills International as the 84th Member State on July 8th, 2020. Our inaugural national competition took place from 28th August to 1st September 2023 in Nairobi and Nyeri counties, in preparation for our debut participation in the WSI competitions in Lyon, France, from September 10th to 15th, 2024. The 2023 event saw over 100 TVET trainees compete in 18 vocational skills areas.
